She was the oldest daughter of Clifton and Emma Shutt Boles. Nancy was born on August 28,1930.
She had two sisters: Faye (deceased) and Rita who lives in Statesville,N.C.
Nancy won a pool swimming beauty contest and graduated from James A. Gray High School.
She then married Clifton M. Nowell, in June, 1947. Clif worked for a lineman contractor and traveled a lot, ending up in California.
The couple became proud parents of their first son Stephen on May 23, 1948. Stephen Ray Nowell had a brother later join his family. Micheal Anthony was welcomed on Dec. 12, 1950.
After a car accident that injured his neck and other events, Clif passed away on Nov. 5, 1960. (DOB Feb. 12, 1927).
Nancy worked for Hughes Aircraft for several years. In 1955, she had back surgery. While lying on a gurney in the elevator, she turned and there was Elizabeth Taylor (yes, the famous actress). They both were having back surgery. Not exactly a meeting standing face to face, but memorable in itself. Nancy said she was the most beautiful woman she had ever seen, like a porcelain doll .
After Clifton died, she married Frank M. Holborow (DOB Jan.23.1923) in Los Angeles, California.
Nancy had another son named Frank Edward Holborow on May 23, 1962. Frank was a very interesting son as he learned all the stuff from his older brothers. She is very proud of them all.
Nancy continued to work at Hughes Aircraft and received several promotions. She worked for several Space and Communications and was given certificate's for finishing programs given by Hughes, to help their employees become more educated about the wonderful technical things going on in our Country. So it was very hard on her in 1983, she had to quit due to the effects cancer left on her body. She feels very blessed to be alive.
She later had a restaurant in Playa Del Rey,Calif. at the beach, with her second husband Frank Holborow. They had many stars come to get lunch. If you want to know who, "Go ask Nancy!" Ha! Ha!The local was great for film makers working with children, as we were near the beach, play ground and a nice large pond.she seemed to have had a full life.
She continues to go strong and finds joy in friendship and great grand-children.
