Clifton Sylvester Boles was born Dec. 11, 1909 and died April 29, 1988.  He married Emma Mable Shutt. They had three girls named Nancy, Faye, and Rita.

Clifton was the eldest son of John Francis Boles (step-son) and Etta Belle Ziglar.
Clifton worked on his parents farm as a boy and as he grew, he worked in his father's fish market in Winston-Salem, N.C.  He also worked for Hanes Clothing MFGR.  When jobs became hard to find, he went to Iowa, where his wife and family. He got a job looking over cows and horses. His wife became home sick, so because he loved her so much, he quite his job, came home, and started driving greyhound bus's part-time.  Then he got a job driving long haul trucks across the USA.  He smoked a lot and had a heart attack. After the attack, the doctors gave him a list of things to do to get well. He went back to work for about 7-9 years, then his heart got bad again, even though he did as he was told. No smoking and no long hauls with out rest. After several years of cancer and heart surgeries, he died due to the past years, largely to the hard work and smoking. All of his brothers and most of the family died of smoking related illness. To this date there is only one sister left. Etta Lou Boles.
He was a kind and gentle man, loved by all who knew him.  He is truly missed, but his love lives on in the hearts of the people who knew him.
